Jagdip Mehta’s Heritage House is a quintessential example of Naggar Brahmin haveli architecture from Ahmedabad, featuring a central courtyard, a refined façade, and an innovative rainwater harvesting system. The exterior showcases European influences, while the interiors remain true to the traditional Gujarati style.

History

This 200-year-old homestay is owned and operated by Jagdip Mehta and his family. The entire family shares a passion for music. The house’s restoration was part of a collaborative effort between the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Heritage Cell and a French Government program, aimed at preserving this architectural treasure.

By Air: You can fly to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, which is approximately 10 km from the homestay. HTA and the hotel concierge can arrange a private transfer to and from the airport for you.

By Train: To reach the homestay by train, you can arrive at Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station, located about 5 minutes away. From there, local taxis or rickshaws are available to take you to Khadia.
