History

The Wankaner Palace was completed in 1933 under the reign of Maharana Raj Shri Amarsinhji, the 37th ruler of the Wankaner state. It is a magnificent example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, blending European influences with traditional Indian styles.

The palace and the surrounding estate were initially built as the royal family’s residence. Over the years, part has been transformed into luxurious heritage hotels to preserve their history.
