History

The palace dates back over 450 years and was originally the royal residence of the Jadeja dynasty, one of Gujarat’s most prominent royal families. Khirsara Palace was built by Thakore Ranmalji, the descendant of Thakore Bhimaji, during the Ghori Empire. The palace was rebuilt by Thakore Sursinhji. Beautifully located on the top of a hill, this regal palace once symbolised power and prestige. A silent witness to centuries of history, it has weathered the storms of time. It is carefully restored today and offers a luxurious escape into Gujarat’s royal heritage.
